Chamber event brings music, food and dancing to Sandy

Music Fair and Feast runs July 10-13

The Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce’s sole fundraiser and benefit concert, Music Fair and Feast, is just around the corner.

Music Fair and Feast will take place from Thursday, July 10, through Sunday, July 13, at Sandy’s Centennial Plaza, at the corner of Pioneer Boulevard and Hoffman Avenue.

Music Fair and Feast began in Sandy more than 30 years ago and is the SACC’s only current fundraiser. The Chamber budgets for one-third of its annual income from the Music Fair and Feast.

In addition to providing food booths, the Fair and Feast will feature musicians from the Portland area, dancing and a beer and wine garden.

The 17th Annual Talent Show Contest, sponsored by Clackamas County Bank, will take over the Music Fair and Feast from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 13.

There will be age group prizes in addition to the grand prize: a $250 Visa gift card.

Applications, available at the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce, 38963 Pioneer Boulevard, are accepted until Friday, July 11.

Completed applications can be dropped off at the office or mailed to Sandy Area Chamber, P.O. Box 536, in Sandy.

All types of talent acts are encouraged to apply and the application fee is only $10.

Age groups are: 6-10 years, 11-14 years and 15-18 years.

Competitors are judged on originality, technical ability, costumes and stage presence.

This year’s Music Fair and Feast is sponsored by Sandy Les Schwab Tire Center. You can pick up a $2.00 token at the store at 37895 Highway 26.
