Juniors with talent brave stormy weather to claim prizes

Despite the weather’s attempts to steal the show, contestants held their own at the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce’s Junior Talent Show on Sunday, July 13.

“The talent show started at noon, and that was about the time the thunder and lightning joined the rain,” said SACC Office Manager Khrys Jones. “The contestants did fantastic, and the weather didn’t slow them down at all.”

The overall winner, and recipient of the $250 prize, was Hayden Jones of Portland.

Makenna Bilodeaux and Emilee Vazquez of Gresham were the champions of the 11-14 age group. Sidra Cohen-Mallon of Sandy took home the title as winner of the 6-10 age group.
