Johnson, Thomsen plan legislative town hall

Event planned for March 22 in Cascade Locks

Rep. Mark Johnson, R-Hood River, and Sen. Chuck Thomsen, R-Hood River, will host an in-district town hall on Friday, March 22, to give a legislative update, and provide constituents with opportunities to share concerns and ask questions about issues taking place in the local community and in Salem.

Thomsen represents Senate District 26, and Johnson represents House District 52. Both districts include Sandy, the mountain villages and a portion of Boring.

“We have some very important legislation this session, and there are a lot of significant things happening in our local communities as well,” Johnson said. “We would like to discuss what we’ve been working on, what our priorities are, and get some feedback from members of our community on their needs locally.”

The town hall will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the Port of Cascade Locks, 355 Cascade Locks Highway. The town hall is open to the public.

Thomsen said, "I look forward to being back in the district. During legislative session, it is the most important time to stay rooted in the communities I serve. Now is a key time to talk about our priorities, with so much at stake and so many months in the Legislature yet to unfold."

This is the first of a number of town halls Johnson will host throughout the 2013 legislative session.

If there are particular questions or topics citizens would like to have covered at the town hall, or for more information about the town hall, the public is invited to send contact Johnson and his staff via email at Mark@RepMarkJohnson.com.
