Edward Bruce Baker

Nov. 13, 1938-Jan. 15, 2013

Prineville resident Edward Bruce Baker, a former Gresham resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 15. He was 74.

A service will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 24, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

A full obituary will run in a future edition of The Gresham Outlook and Sandy Post.

Janet Lynn Green

Sept. 13, 1949-Jan. 8, 2013

Gresham resident Janet Lynn Green died Tuesday, Jan. 8. She was 63.

At her request, no services are planned, but a party will be held in her honor at a later date.

Janet was born Sept. 13, 1949, in Seattle. She was raised in Oregon and graduated from Molalla High School in 1967.

On Jan. 26, 1985, she married Larry Green. She was an emergency room unit secretary and a Realtor.

Jan loved spending quality time with family and friends, including co-workers at Portland Adventist Emergency and those she met at Lake Merwin Camper’s Hideaway.

Janet is survived by her husband; daughters, Monica of Issaquah, Wash., and Kristi of Vancouver, Wash.; son, Aaron of Chancellor, Ala.; sister, Jodi of Portland; brother, D.J. of Enterprise; and eight grandchildren.

Crown Memorial Center is handling arrangements.

Marlene Lavonne Nevills

Aug. 11, 1932-Jan. 15, 2013

Former Eagle Creek resident Marlene Lavonne Nevills died Tuesday, Jan. 15. She was 80.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.

Marlene was born Aug. 11, 1932, in San Diego to Lillian Hester and John F. Chambers. She graduated from Chula Vista High School in 1951.

Marlene married Leon Nevills Feb. 6, 1954, in Yuma, Ariz. They made their home in San Diego and began their family. They remained in California until 1980, when they moved to Eagle Creek.

In 1995 Leon and Marlene moved to Wamic. Marlene loved outdoor activities, especially fishing and hunting.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband in 2001. Survivors include her three sons, Ken Nevills, Steve Nevills and John Nevills; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Arthur “Art” William Smith

July 12, 1924-Jan. 15, 2013

Sandy resident Arthur “Art” William Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Avamere at Sandy. He was 88.

A service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

Art was born July 12, 1924, in Oakland to Walter and Catherine (Hess) Smith. Art served in the United States Navy during World War II.

After the war, Art worked for the city of Portland Water Bureau as a lab supervisor at the Bull Run facility. Retiring after 30 years, he began woodworking and loved working on computers. He spent the last year and six months of his life at Avamere at Sandy with his wife, Phyllis.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Smith; sister, Val Arbaugh; children, Linda Richards, Tom Smith and David Smith; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Donzella Lintner

Donzella Lintner

Longtime Gresham resident, Donzella “Donnie” Lintner died at the age of 94 on Thursday, January 17, 2013 in Gresham.

Donnie was born on December 14, 1918 in Quimby, Iowa to William and Verna Riseling. She grew up in Cherokee County, Iowa where she graduated from Quimby High School in 1936. Directly after high school Donnie moved to the Gresham area with her family where she met George Lintner in June of 1938 and married three months later on September 9th. They made Gresham their permanent home where they ran George’s Alignment for many years until George’s retirement.

Donnie and George were avid square dancing and members of the Country Cut Ups in Boring. They enjoyed traveling in their motor home across the country and would often settle in Arizona for the winters.

She is survived by her sons Skip Lintner of Gleneden Beach, Oregon and Larry Lintner of Portland, her daughter Betty Holmlund of Gresham, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George and daughter Nancy Brown.

A joint memorial service for Donnie and George will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Housecall Providers Inc.,
