College presents two local artists work

The Visual Arts Gallery at Mt. Hood Community College, 26000 S.E. Stark St., is showcasing two area artists this month.

“Visual Confessions of a Glass Addict” features the art of Jim Weiler, who has been working with glass for 18 years and is an instructor at Bullseye Glass Company in Portland. He has traveled all over the country teaching and assisting various artists. His work represents a wide variety of the processes used to create objects in glass, from casting to fusing and even some blown work.

Also featured will be “Pataphysics” by Posie Currin, a Portland-based artist who is a part-time art instructor at Mt. Hood. Her work explores a broad spectrum of media including film, sound, photography, choreography, installation and sculpture.

Both artists’ work will be on display throughout February. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gallery is closed weekends and holidays. Parking is free.
