Hip-hop rap Poetry Gang

Poem slam draws 150 to library

The three categories included age under 16 original poem, age more than 16 original poem and non-original poem by any age individual or group. Winners included Molly Murphy-Brown, 13, for Just a Tree; Carol Ryan for Quiet Country Night; and the Poetry Gang doing a group hip-hop rap version of Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. In addition, the event had Emcee Scott Poole sharing two of his original poems, including To Run, A Prayer for Boston.
