Quarterback Justin Adams selected for NFF award

Sandy High School senior Justin Adams is a finalist for the Portland Chapter’s National Football Foundation Top Back and Overall award.

Adams, quarterback for the Sandy Pioneers since his sophomore year, will be recognized for his accomplishments on the field, in the classroom and in the community during the foundation’s 52nd awards banquet at the Red Lion Janzen Beach on Wednesday, Dec. 12. The banquet will honor 14 students from a group of 63 nominees.

Craig Hastin, head coach of the Tigard High School football team, winners of the 6A state title this year, will be recognized as the “Walk of Champions” recipient. Hall of Fame football coach Ad Rutschman and former NFL and Portland State University quarterback, Niel Lomax, will present at the banquet.

This season, Adams was selected all-league first team quarterback and first team punter in the Northwest Oregon Conference.

Adams led the Pioneers to a 3-7 record and birth in the play-in round of the 5A playoffs in his final season. He also threw for more than 1,000 yards this season.
