Natalie Paul strikes four times in road win
5A GIRLS SOCCER
Northwest Oregon Conference
|La Salle Prep (1-7-2)|
MILWAUKIE — The Sandy girls soccer team stayed atop the Northwest Oregon Conference with a dominating 5-1 win at La Salle Prep on Tuesday night.
The Pioneers took command late in the first half when Marley Salveter took a few dribbles down the center of the field before playing it ahead to Natalie Paul, who side stepped a defender as she reached the 18-yard box. Still, she had three La Salle players in her path. A defender on her left, another on her right, and the goalie hunkered down in the center of the net.
Paul dug her foot into the ground and blasted a shot through a tight window and just inside the near post to put the Pioneers on top 4-1 at the break.
Paul scored four goals on the night.
Sandy (6-1-2) plays at Wilsonville at 7 p.m. Tuesday, leading up to its clash for first place at home against Milwaukie at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.
