Brandon Roy underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday that is expected to shelve him for the next four to six weeks.
"We are looking forward to Brandon making a full recovery and expect him to be ready for the start of the regular season," GM Kevin Pritchard says.
Team physician Dr. Don Roberts performed the surgery at Southwest Washington Regional Surgery Center in Vancouver, Wash.
The surgery was to repair a tear in the meniscus of his left knee, which had been bothering Roy of late. A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) taken Tuesday revealed the tear.

Re: Roy to have knee surgery
Can we please go one consecutive 12 month period without losing, or at least the threat of losing, a cornerstone piece to our franchise?
Surround them all in bubble wrap in the offseason, I say.
