CORVALLIS — Sean Sehnem handled place-kicking duties for Oregon State in Thursday’s 27-21 upset of USC because regular kicker Justin Kahut is still slowed by a hip flexor.
Walk-on freshman Matt Barker kicked off for the Beavers.
• Through three quarters, freshman Jacquizz Rodgers had 29 carries for 148 yards and two TDs.
• OSU receiver Sammie Stroughter left late in the second quarter after taking a big hit on a 17-yard reception to the SC 9-yard line. OSU officials said he was suffering from leg cramps.
Stroughter sat out the first two series of the third quarter before returning late in the period.
• Former SC coach John Robinson served as analyst for a national radio feed for the game. He said he had a chance to visit with OSU coach Mike Riley – his offensive coordinator for four years – on Wednesday. “Mike’s such a great coach,” Robinson said. “Tonight’s the perfect example of how to game plan. You couldn’t have your team ready to play any better than Mike did in this one.”
