Tigard man arrested on attempted murder charges in gang shooting

A Tigard man investigators allege is responsible for shooting a teen at a residence in Northeast Portland’s Cully neighborhood in May has been taken into custody.

Diego Armondo Rodriguez-Perez, 25, was arrested Tuesday by Portland police Gang Enforcement Team detectives in Tigard. Perez is charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Following his arrest, detectives served a search warrant at his residence, located in the 8900 block of Southwest Reiling Street in Tigard.

On the evening of May 30, officers responded to the 6500 block of Northeast Killingsworth Street to find a 17-year-old boy with a single gunshot wound. The victim, whose name was not released, survived.

Perez is lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center.
