Two seriously injured in crash that closed part of Highway 99W
A section of Highway 99W is closed Wednesday morning south of Sherwood after two people in a car were injured in a collision with a dump truck.
Washington County sheriffs deputies said the driver and a passenger in the car were taken by Life Flight to Oregon Health and Science University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The victims names and medical condition have not been released.
Deputies said the crash happened at about 6:45 a.m. when a northbound car collided with the rear of a utility trailer pulled by a dump truck. The car was impaled on the trailer and dragged a short distance.
Northbound lanes of the highway were closed but should reopen this morning. Oregon State Police are investigating the collision.
