Tualatin police arrest reckless driver after pedestrian narrowly avoids being struck
Tualatin Police officers responded to what appeared to be a near-fatal crash near the entrance to Fred Meyer on Martinazzi Avenue at 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
The driver of a red 1975 GMC truck was seen nearly hitting a pedestrian after he drove through a red stoplight at the intersection of Martinazzi Avenue and Warm Springs Street. No injuries were reported.
According to witnesses, Ritchie was also seen crashing into another vehicle, as well as hitting and doing damage to a road sign after driving on the curb close to Avery Street and 86th Avenue, near the roundabout.
Ritchie was charged with driving under the influence, as well as charges of hit and run, and reckless driving.
Ritchie was lodged at the Washington County jail.
