Ronald JackoPortland Police have arrested a Tigard man who allegedly ran into a man after a basketball game late last year.

On Thursday, Feb. 7, Ronald Jacko, 28, of Tigard, reportedly turned himself in to Portland Police.

Jacko was believed to have been behind the wheel during a Dec. 13 hit and run in the Rose Quarter after a Portland Trailblazers basketball game.

Ryan Hendryx 32, had just left the game, and was crossing North Vancouver Avenue near Weidler Street at about 10:30 p.m. when he was struck by a passing car.

Police said a 2007 Chrysler 300 slammed into Hendryx with such force that he flew onto the car’s hood, shattering the windshield, then fell onto the street.

The driver never stopped, and immediately fled the scene.

Officers later located the car, which had received a new windshield, Portland police said.

Jacko faces one count each of failure to perform the duties of a driver and tampering with physical evidence.

Jacko was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail.
