Students display Newtown quilts

, a public speaker from Lake Oswego, to start "Art for the Families" a special art partnership that sends original artwork to Connecticut.

It took about 70 students to create the two large quilts.

The quilts were displayed at Twality briefly Monday before being donated to Healing Newtown, an organization set up by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission to handle the enormous outpouring of art and gifts sent to Newtown every day.

The quilts are expected to be sent to Connecticut this week, Hufford-Wong said.
