A Tigard woman walked in on two burglars Tuesday afternoon who were ransacking her home near Southwest Bonita Road.

Police are looking for assistance in finding them.

The woman had just returned to her home in the 8500 block of Southwest Colony Creek Court near Hall Boulevard and McDonald Street on Tuesday afternoon when she heard a noise coming from inside the home.

According to Jim Wolf, a spokesman with the Tigard Police Department, the woman had walked in on a burglary in progress and was confronted by two men who appeared from one of the rooms.

One of the men was holding a handgun and began yelling at the woman, demanding items from the home.

Wolf said the woman was able to get out of the house and call police.

The two men fled the scene.

Police contained the area within a few moments. A Beaverton K-9 team searched the area, but the two men were not found. Washington County forensic investigators examined the house for clues, Wolf said.

No one was injured, Wolf said. Though it did appear that the men were able to leave with some of the woman's belongings.

The burglars are both described as black men between 18 and 25 years old. One of the men stand about 5-foot-ten inches tall, with a medium build, wearing a dark colored zip-up hooded sweatshirt.

The second burglar was described as “considerably shorter,” wearing a white pullover hooded sweatshirt with a stripe.

Police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call Tigard Police at 503-718-2677 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
