Two principals announce retirement in Tigard-Tualatin

Two schools in Tigard-Tualatin School District will see new principals next year.

Byrom Elementary School Principal Rick Fraisse and Twality Middle School principal Rick Patrick will retire at the end of the year, the district announced Wednesday.

Carol Kinch, Twality Middle School's current associate principal, will take over at the middle school in June.

Kinch started in the district in 1999 as a learning specialist at Tualatin High School and moved to the district office in 2003 as a teacher on special assignment. She directed the district’s ELL programs from 2004 to 2007, when she become the district’s associate director of student services until 2011

At Byrom Elementary School, Fraisse was principal at Alder Elementary School in the Reynolds School District before coming to Byrom in 2008.

Fraisse’s two sons attended Byrom and graduated from Tualatin High School.

Fraisse’s wife, a teacher in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District, is also retiring at the end of the year.

A new principal at Byrom has yet to be named.
