Deceased woman found in park was from Sherwood

The body discovered Tuesday at Bald Peak State Park in Yamhill County was that of 55-year-old Sherwood resident Monica Gotter.
A person walking their dogs at the park found Gotter’s body.
She apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Oregon State Police investigators. Her vehicle was located nearby.
Oregon State Park personnel closed the park, located northwest of Newberg, during the investigation.
