Local restaurants in running for 'Best Sports Bar'

Several local eateries are in the running to be named Best Sports Bar, and they need your help to claim the title.

The contest is hosted by radio station The Fan 750 AMand Bridgeport Brewing. The station will host a party at the winning location to kick off the NFL season early next month.

Restaurant-lovers are asked to text the name of their favorite sports bar to 64636 at least once a day.

Currently in second-place is Nicoli's Grill & Bar in Tualatin, one of 12 restaurants to advance to the second-round of voting.

Nicoli’s, located at 17880 S.W. McEwan Road, was previously known as Gametime, the family restaurant-turned-arcade owned by Tualatin businessman Dave Nicoli.

Other local sports bars in the running are the Thirsty Lion restaurant near Washington Square, Big Al's on Southwest Barrows Road and The Sports Page restaurant on Hall Boulevard.

The contest will last through four rounds of elimination, until there is only one restaurant left.
