Man with knife robs Tigard bank

Police say this man robbed a Columbia Bank in Tigard with a knife on Friday, Sept. 13. Anyone with information is asked to call Tigard Police at 503-639-6168Police are still looking for a man who robbed a Columbia Bank branch in Tigard on Friday, Sept. 13.

Police say a man armed with a knife entered the former West Coast bank at 11675 S.W. Pacific Highway at about 12:40 p.m. and ushered employees into the bank vault area where he demanded money.

No one was injured in the robbery, and the man ran out of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Tigard Police were on the scene within a few minutes of the robbery, according to Jim Wolf, a spokesman with the department, and investigators searched the area with the help of a Beaverton Police K-9 team. Officers were unable to locate the man.

The suspect is described as a black man with a thin build, standing between 6 feet, 2 inches and 6 feet, 4 inches tall. The man wore glasses, black warm-up pants, a white T-shirt, black windbreaker jacket and black beanie at the time of the robbery.
