Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge caught up in fed shutdown
Add the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge in Sherwood to the list of agencies closed by the federal government shutdown. A recorded message at the wildlife center states: Due to a lapse in appropriations the wildlife center will be closed until future notice. Once federal funding has been restored, our regular schedule will resume.
The Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge includes 3,058 acres of land with an initial 12-acre private donation established at the refuge in 1993.
The refuges wildlife center, located at 19255 S.W. Highway 99W, is normally opened Tuesdays through Sundays.
