Sheriff's deputies are still searching for a man and woman they believe shot a man in a home in the 7900 block of Southwest Taylors Ferry Road in Metzger at about 10:30 Thursday morning.

Deputies received information from witnesses that a man and woman were involved in the shooting and had fled the scene on foot. With assistance from the Portland Police Bureau and Tigard Police Department, deputies quickly surrounded the area. A K9 team was brought in to search for the man and woman. The search continued for the better part of an hour, but the pair was not located. Metzger Elementary School and several area homes were put on lockdown during the search.

Upon further investigation, deputies learned that their primary suspect was Jeffrey Levi Mcgregor, 32, and his companion, Cindy Kristina Scarlett, 33, was a person of interest in the crime.

The victim was taken to Oregon Health and Science University and is currently in critical condition, but is expected to survive. His name was not released. Speculation on the motive of the suspect is part of the investigation and not being released at this time.

The search and investigation are ongoing.
