Capital One holding job fair
Capital One Financial Corp. is looking to hire 50 new employees, a few months after laying off hundreds over the past two years.
The financial giant which operates a call center at 12123 S.W. 69th Ave.in Tigard announced Thursday that it plans to hold a job fair on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Embassy Suites, 9000 S.W. Washington Square Road.
The company is looking to hire about 50 people for its fraud detection and customer service departments.

The Tigard office was once HSBCs largest customer service center with more nearly 1,000 employees.
The call center has gone through major reshuffling over the past few years. The company has gone through three rounds of layoffs since it took over operating the call center from British banking giant HSBC in 2012.
It laid off more than 200 people from the call center in 2012 and cut an additional 70 in September, then hired about 120 people in October.
