Take a tour of Tigard's Women, Infants and Children program
Want to learn more about Washington Countys work to help woman and children? Washington County Health and Human Services is hosting an open house at the Hilltop Business Center later this month.
The center is the new home for the countys Women, Infants and Children program, which offers nutritional education and support to low-income pregnant women and families with young children, including breastfeeding support groups, education and vouchers for healthy foods.
From 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, the county is offering tours of the new facility, and attendees can learn more about the organizations services for women and families with young children.
The county shut down its Tigard location after the health clinic it was housed in closed its doors this past October, but the county vowed to move the program to a new home in Tigard, which it opened last month.
The program serves about 19,000 people per year at its three locations in Tigard, Beaverton and Hillsboro.
Staff will be on hand, including nutrition technicians and lactation specialists.
