Beaverton Harvest Market hosts Baskets of Joy drive

On Saturday, join the Beaverton Farmers Market as it hosts its annual Harvest Market.

The market takes place from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot across from the Beaverton City Library.

Right in time for Thanksgiving, this celebration boasts a variety of fresh meats, seafood, dairy and packaged goods. Great holiday gifts and stocking stuffers will also be available in addition to the festive wreaths, garland and holiday trimmings that will abound.

Visitors will find everything from cranberry pie filling and fresh cream to cocktail mixers and Heirloom turkeys. Lonely Lane Farms will offer plenty of roasts and bacon for purchase and the aromatic celery bunches from George and Susie Choban will add flavor to your holiday stuffing.

Shoppers can stock up on all fall favorites while enjoying live music.

You can also help make a difference.

The Baskets of Joy food and toy drive for the Tualatin Valley Gleaners is a program that benefits the children and families of Washington County.

The Beaverton Farmers Market will help kick-off this giving program on Saturday by hosting a Gleaner’s booth for food, supplies, toys and cash donations. In order to help those in need this holiday season, the Beaverton Farmers Market will match every cash donation made, up to $500.

People can also help by sponsoring a food box, toys or making a fresh donation with food from the market.

For those who can’t make it to the market but would like to donate to Baskets of Joy, collections will also be accepted at the Beaverton Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 7.
