Entitled 'Sentimental Journey,' the garden was meant to 'welcome a new trend emerging as eager to celebrate what was natural, simple and beautiful on its own merit.'The 2013 Oregon Association of Nurseries’ annual Yard, Garden and Patio Show, presented by Dennis’ 7 Dees Landscaping and Garden Centers, attracted thousands of visitors to the Oregon Convention Center on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The three-day event featured outdoor cooking classes from noted local chefs, an urban farming-focused edible garden, the Cracked Pots garden artists’ exhibit and scores of free seminars geared to hobbyists and master gardeners alike. The show also offered more opportunities for attendees to buy plants than years before.

Guests walked away with tips about plant selection, ideal plant placement, urban farming and sustainable gardens. Visitors also had the opportunity to stroll through featured gardens in search of inspiration for their next project.
