Portland Festival Ballet celebrates grand opening

Nonprofit ballet school opens new Beaverton studio


Portland Festival Ballet, a nonprofit ballet school serving Washington and Multnomah counties, is moving to a brand new studio in Beaverton.

The grand opening ceremony is scheduled for Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

According to Thelma Clark, executive director of Portland Festival Ballet, this move is a major milestone in the illustrious history of the organization.

The state-of-the-art studio will offer the budding and experienced ballet students a well-equipped and conducive environment to develop their skills under the direction of experienced instructors led by well-renowned Artistic Director John Magnus.

From creative and pre-ballet through its level 6 classes, the school provides an integrated dance curriculum for students who desire a quality dance education. They place those seeking a career in dance in a professional environment, giving them an opportunity to work towards their goals.

Portland Festival Ballet also offers training for dance instructors to enhance their skills and talent.

For those desiring to understand and explore movement and gain a deeper understanding of dance, the school provides opportunities to understand the fundamentals of choreography.
