Beaverton Last Tuesday features 5 Guys Named Moe

by: SUBMITTED PHOTO - Five Guys Named Moe will perform during the New Seasons' Beaverton Last Tuesday concert series on July 30. The ultimate dance and show band includes a 12-piece, horn-driven musical ensemble that will play hits from the 1960s and 1970s as well as 1980s retro dance hits.  Five Guys Named Moe will perform a free outdoor concert during the next New Seasons’ Beaverton Last Tuesday on July 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Plaza Fountain at The Round at Beaverton Central, 12600 S.W. Crescent St.

The fountain is adjacent to the Beaverton Central light-rail station.

Presented by the city of Beaverton and the Beaverton Arts Commission, the 10th annual festival features art, music and food.

Five Guys Named Moe is a dance and show band comprising a 12-piece, horn-driven musical ensemble that play 1960s rock ‘n’ roll along with 1970s and ’80s retro dance hits.

Restaurants Mio Sushi, Mingo’s, and Planet Thai will offer indoor and outdoor dining. Concertgoers can also visit Mingo’s to view the monthly rotating art display.

“What a milestone for this fun summer series,” said Mayor Denny Doyle. “I encourage everyone to come down and celebrate 10 years of great music and lively dancing.”

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, Todd Haaby and Band will perform at The Round for the last concert of the season. This Nuevo Flamenco guitarist and his Latin band have taken their passion for Latin music and combined it to create a flavor of music indicative of Nuevo Flamenco, according to Last Tuesday organizers.

To make each night a true celebration of the arts, dance demonstrations will be presented during band intermissions, including Painted Sky/Northstar Dance Company honoring Native American culture in July, and the Kalabharathi School of Dance (East Indian dance) in August.

Parking is available off of Southwest Cedar Hills Boulevard at Westgate Drive in the former Westgate Theater lot.
