COURTESY - Former Oregon resident Pam Nichols is showing her work at Art On Broadway Gallery this month. This will be the last Oregon show for the encaustic artist, who recently moved to Australia.Beaverton's Art On Broadway Gallery is showing "Living: Lessons of Life," an exhibit from former member and encaustic painter Pam Nichols.

Nichols, formerly an Oregon resident, recently moved to Perth, the state capital of Western Australia. This is the last chance to see her work in Oregon.

"Living: Lessons of Life" started with Nichols asking different people in her life to share a lesson they have learned, and a brief story behind it. Nichols depicts these lessons in the exhibit's 13 paintings.

"I explore and honor the emotions in each story by translating them into color, shape, and form in my encaustic paintings," Nichols said in a press release.

Nichols' paintings are done in the encaustic style, meaning that she uses heated beeswax to fuse her paint colors together.

The exhibit runs through Saturday, Oct. 28. Art On Broadway Gallery is at 12570 S.W. Broadway St., Beaverton. It is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
