SHERWOOD — The Sherwood High School girls basketball team made it two in a row.

The Lady Bowmen picked up their second straight Northwest Oregon Conference victory Friday by pulling away from Sandy to get a 58-49 win in a game played at Sherwood High School.

With the win, Sherwood improved to 3-10 on the season at that point while also evening its NWOC record at 2-2.

Sophomore post Mallory Shields led the way for Sherwood in the victory with 18 points. Senior guard Kyeli Hendryx added 16 points and junior guard Emily Harris scored 11.

The Lady Bowmen couldn’t make it three in row on Tuesday, as they fell 58-43 to league-leading Milwaukie in a league game played at Sherwood High School.

Junior post Jaelyn Funk and Hendryx each scored 16 points for the Lady Bowmen in that contest. Shields added six points.

Sherwood will be back in action Friday when it plays at Wilsonville in a league game set to start at 7:15 p.m. On Tuesday, the Lady Bowmen will be home to play Putnam in a 7:15 p.m. league contest.
