MILWAUKIE — Sherwood’s losing skid is over.

And the Bowmen ended that skid in impressive fashion.

The Sherwood High School boys basketball team ended its three-game losing streak by rolling to a 62-37 win over Rex Putnam in a Northwest Oregon Conference game played Tuesday at Rex Putnam High School.

With the win, the Bowmen upped their NWOC mark to 4-3, putting them in a tie with Wilsonville for third place in the league standings, while also improving their overall record to 9-7. Putnam dropped to 2-5 in league play and to 2-15 on the season.

Senior guard Jordan Skoubo led a balanced Sherwood scoring attack in the victory with 13 points. Senior post Alex Jones scored 11 points, senior post Jacob Brooks added eight points while junior posts Lucas Johnson and Jordan Kurahara each had six.

Prior to the win at Putnam, the Bowmen were tipped 43-40 by Wilsonville in a league tilt played Friday at Sherwood High School. Skoubo had 11 points in that contest and Jones had 10.

Sherwood will be back in action Friday when it plays at Liberty in a league game set to start at 7:15 p.m. On Tuesday, the Bowmen will host St. Helens at 7:15 p.m.
