First-place Tigers just keep on rolling

Tigard beats FG, Glencoe to stay unbeaten in league


HILLSBORO — The Tigard High School boys basketball team doesn’t seem to be letting up.

Not one bit.

After grabbing sole possession of first place in the Pacific Conference standings a little over a week ago, the Tigers kept on rolling, scoring big wins over both Forest Grove and Glencoe.

Tigard, on Friday, bested Forest Grove 70-53 in a Pacific Conference game played at Tigard High School. The Tigers followed that up by rolling to a 75-41 win over Glencoe in a league tilt played Tuesday at Glencoe High School.

Senior guard Evan Garrison led the way for the Tigers in Friday’s win over Forest Grove with 23 points. Seniors Conner Olson and Will Schaer added 10 points apiece and sophomore post Joel Johnson scored nine points.

Garrison also was Tigard’s leading scorer in the victory at Glencoe with 19 points. Junior guard Bryan Berg scored 16 points in that contest and junior wing Nick Kaelin had 12 points.
