Tigers second, Wolves fourth at boys golf tournament


The Tigard and Tualatin boys golf teams are still chasing Glencoe in the Pacific Conference standings, but they look to be picking up the pace.

The Tigers placed second and the Timberwolves took fourth at the latest league tournament, held Monday at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.

Glencoe took the top spot in the team standings at Monday’s tournament with a score of 311 strokes. Tigard was second at 337, Newberg was third at 344 and the Wolves were fourth at 356.

Nick Jones led the way for Tigard at Monday’s tournament with a round of 78. Also for the Tigers, Robert Stewart carded an 84, Corey Floom had an 87, Colin McAninch shot an 88 and Nick Wanderscheid had a round of 91.

For Tualatin, senior Nicholas Cross led the way with a score of 81. Also for the Wolves, JJ Paulson shot an 85, Jackson Ceserani had a round of 91, JJ Carter shot a 99 and Jonathan Whittle had a 104.

Ethan Zickel of Glencoe won tourney medalist honors with a score of 73.
