TUALATIN — The Tualatin boys tennis team turned to its talented group of singles players to help score a victory over rival Tigard.

The Timberwolves came away with wins in all four singles matches en route to scoring a 6-2 victory in the Pacific Conference dual match played Tuesday at Tualatin.

With the victory, Tualatin improved its league record to 8-3. Tigard saw its league mark evened at 5-5.

In the No. 1 singles match on Tuesday, Tualatin senior Randall Tainer needed three sets to get a 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 win over Tigard’s Alex Piatski.

Timberwolf freshman Ryan Malinowski posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles. Dahn Nguyen won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3 singles and Michael Rinker scored a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4.

The teams split the four doubles matches.

At No. 1 doubles, the Tiger team of Brian Josephson and Andrew Roluffs got a 6-3, 6-3 win. The other Tigard victory came at No. 3 doubles, where the team of Tanner Ahl and Sam Copeland won 6-1, 6-1.

Tualatin’s team of Josh Olson and Mitchell King got a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles and the Timberwolf duo of Jared Walker and Brandt Gehrs won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 doubles.
