Tigard, Sherwood set to start postseason play

The OIBA tournament will be on Tuesday

Both teams will be playing in the OIBA tournament.The Tigard Longhorns and the Sherwood OIBA baseball teams will open postseason play this week.

Sherwood starts its postseason trek when it plays Sunset in a best-of-three tournament seeding series. The series will start Friday with a 6 p.m. game at Sherwood. On Saturday, the teams will play at 3 p.m. at Sunset. If a third game is needed, it will be played Sunday, at 3 p.m., at Sherwood.

If Sherwood wins the series, it will open the OIBA tourney Tuesday at Tigard High School with a 2 p.m. first-round game against either Grant or Aloha.

If Sherwood loses the seeding series, it will open tourney play Tuesday at Tigard with an 11:30 a.m. first-round game against either Central Catholic, Glencoe or Hillsboro.

The Longhorns will open postseason play on Sunday when they play at Westview at noon in an OIBA tournament seeding game.

If Tigard wins on Sunday, it will open the OIBA tourney Tuesday with a 9 a.m. first-round game against either Lake Oswego or West Linn at Tigard High School.

If the Longhorns lose on Sunday, they will play Tuesday at Tigard in a 4:30 p.m. first-round game against either Lincoln, Gresham or Jesuit.
