Both teams will return to conference action tonight

TIGARD — The Tigard High School volleyball team, after a bit of a slow beginning, got its Pacific Conference season off to a winning start.

The Tigers, after dropping the first set to Glencoe, came roaring back to post a 15-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-21 victory over the Crimson Tide in a conference opener held Tuesday at Tigard High School.

Tualatin, in its opener, was edged 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 by Forest Grove in a conference match held Tuesday at Forest Grove High School.

The Tigers and Timberwolves will both return to action in conference matches today (Thursday). Tigard will travel to Century in a battle of teams who finished in the top two spots in last year’s final standings and Tualatin will host Hillsboro. Both of those matches are slated to start at 6:45 p.m.

On Saturday, Tigard will play at the Southridge tournament and Tualatin will play at the Central Catholic tourney.

On Tuesday, Tigard will be home to face McMinnville and Tualatin will travel to Newberg for 6:45 p.m. league tilts.
