New office assistant hired for Woodburn chamber
The Woodburn Chamber of Commerce has a new office assistant, and its someone whose face just might be familiar to many area residents.
Patti Trask spent 29 years at the Woodburn School District in various positions, including work in the business office, as an administrative assistant and as head secretary at Washington Elementary.
She retired from the district May 9, and started her new position at the chamber June 3.
It was a pretty short retirement, she admitted with a laugh.
In her new role, Trask replaces Riley Buck, who left the chamber in April to pursue another job opportunity after only a few months in the position. Shell be responsible for distributing the chamber newsletter to members and answering the phone, as well as bookkeeping, paying bills and balancing accounts all of which she is acquainted with from her time in the school districts business office.
Trask said she wanted the job so she would have the opportunity to work with the community.
Ive lived here a long time, and I wanted to give something back, she said. It was a perfect opportunity for me. Im already finding that Im enjoying every minute of it.
Like all positions with the chamber, the office assistant is a part-time job.
