Scientists to study health of major creeks around Pudding River
This summer, a team of scientists is collecting information about the health of the major creeks that feed into the Pudding River.
Bio-Surveys L.L.C. uses snorkeling to sample pools, and count small salmon and trout.
The creeks they plan to survey are Abiqua, Butte, Drift, Silver and possibly Rock Creek.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has been working with the Pudding River Watershed Council to determine areas that are high-quality salmon habitat and the potential to do restoration projects.
