Celebrate the 85th anniversary of the 1929-1931 building of the Pioneer Mothers Memorial Cabin and 2014 move and build of the cabin at the Newell complex at this 1930s dinner dance fundraiser Aug. 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy an evening under the stars with good friends at the new Newell–PMMC Complex with a sumptuous dinner including beef tri-tip, pork loin, fingerling potatoes, sautéed fresh seasonal vegetables and homemade apple or marionberry cobbler for dessert. Savor a glass of wine and dance under the stars to the Depression era music of Boy and Bean!
This celebration is a fundraiser to complete the rebuilding of the cabin on its new site. Less than $29,000 is needed to match the Top Off grant. The dinner dance fundraiser will help reduce the amount needed. All profits go toward the rebuilding of the Pioneer Mothers Memorial Cabin.
Tickets for the dinner and dance are $45 per person or $80 per couple. Seating is limited, so call Judy Van Atta at 503-678-5537 for reservations.
The complex is located at 8089 Champoeg Road N.E., St. Paul (just 1/8 mile west of the entrance to Champoeg State Heritage Park).
