Police arrested the deceased man's son, Edward Fitchett, 59, and charged him with first-degree theft, first-degree criminal mistreatment, first-degree identity theft and abuse of a corpse.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner is scheduled to conduct an autopsy to determine a cause of death.

Edward Fitchett has been lodged in Marion County Jail and his first court appearance is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at Marion County Circuit Court Annex.
