Ninety-One School PTO says thank you
To the editor:
On behalf of the Ninety-One School PTO, I would like to say a huge thank you to our students, staff, families and community for their generous support of our schools Jog-A-Thon fundraiser.
This was a record-breaking year for us! The students raised more than $20,000, which will be used to fund many important programs and activities for Ninety-One students.
We were blown away by the generosity of all who contributed to this grand total. A big thank you also goes out to Top-O-Hill restaurant for donating so many breakfasts for our top-earning kids, and to Chariot Limousine, which accommodated all 47 of our students who earned the big prize: a limo ride out to breakfast with the principal.
It is wonderful to be part of a community that puts so much value in its childrens education. Thank you so much!
Derickson has history of merging departments
To the editor:
Maybe the citizens of Woodburn should take a look at the past performance of some of our city of Woodburn officials.
I went to the website that covers the North Coast of Oregon, which includes Clatsop County. This is where our city administrator Scott Derickson was the Clatsop County manager prior to coming to Woodburn.
If you as a citizen would like to read some of the consolidating efforts he did in Clatsop County, go to the website northcoastoregon.com and put his name in and a headline will come up that says, County Department Merger for Cost Savings & Efficiency Ends After 3 Year Run. Very interesting read.
Maybe the City of Woodburn will or already has done some consolidating of departments.
Will it work? Read the article and make up your own mind.
