The Kennedy boys track team won eight events Thursday at Regis High School as the Trojans took a narrow four-point victory over Central Linn.

Kennedy finished with 83.5 points to lead all teams, followed by Central Linn at 79.5 and Regis at 68.5. Sheridan and Culver finished a distant fourth and fifth at the event.

The girls’ team scored 69.5 points in a second-place finish to Regis (99) and were led by six victories in individual events.

On the boys side, senior Daniel Glaede placed first in both the discus (123-0) and javelin (133-8), setting a new season-best in the former.

Teammate John Savage matched his wins with first-place times in the 800 (2:11.30) and 1,500 (4:32.60).

Rounding out the boys’ wins were Bishop Mitchell in the long jump (19-3), Cole Galtes in the 300 hurdles (43.84) and Damien Guerrero in the 200 (24.88).

Guerrero and Savage also teamed with Carl Hesse and Brandon Rendon to place first in the 4x400 relay in 3:45.70.

The girls team was led by sisters Loghan and Madison Sprauer, who each finished the day with two wins.

Loghan Sprauer took home first in the high jump for the sixth time this season with a mark of 5-2. She followed with a win in the 200 in 27.89.

Madison picked up her second win in a row in the pole vault by clearing a height of 8-4. She took her first win of the season in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.12.

Sophomore Taylor Brown won the 100 with a time of 13.94 for her first victory of the season.

Junior Lauren Stokley rounded out the girls team with a first-place time of 5:33.23 in the 1,500.
