North Marion's Junior National team scored a 10-0 victory to open the state championship tournament in Lebanon July 13-16, but a 14-7 loss to the eventual champion team from Crescent Valley in the second round sent the Huskies down to the consolation side of the bracket.
From there, North Marion scored an 11-0 win over Sherwood and a 15-8 victory against Gladstone before eventually being eliminated 9-4 to by Lebanon.
Mount Angel's Junior National team finished runner up in the state championship tournament after falling twice to Crescent Valley. The Trojans opened the tournament with a first-round bye, then took down Glencoe 13-3 to advance to the quarterfinal round, where they beat Lebanon 19-9.
A 7-4 loss to Crescent Valley in the semifinals sent Mount Angel to the consolation championship, where they beat Sherwood 15-14 to advance to the championship for a rematch with Crescent Valley, losing 13-2 to finish in second place.
