Apply for Lions scholarships

The West Linn Lions Service Club will award five scholarships to graduating West Linn High School seniors at the May 30 Evening of Excellence.

Three scholarships for $1,100 each are for students who will major in health care, education and career/technical categories. A fourth scholarship for $1,100 will go to a student with special needs, thus signifying the Lions’ commitment to sight and hearing programs.

The fifth scholarship will be given to a student selected for his or her community service contributions. This scholarship for $1,953 accentuates the International Lions motto: “We Serve.” The Lions Club was chartered in 1953, hence the amount of the scholarship.

Scholarships awarded this year by the West Linn Lions Service Club will equal $6,353, making a total of $45,259 over the past eight years.

Applications must be returned to the WLHS college and career coordinator by April 3.

For more information, contact the high school or Ron Adams at 503-636-8444.
