Editor’s note: The Tidings is giving students the summer off. Their teachers have graciously offered to fill in while students enjoy their vacations.

Stafford Primary School

Do you like to get up early or sleep in late during the summer? What do you like to do when you wake up?

Kait Hodgin, instructional assisstant"I love to sleep in late during the summer! When I first wake up I do one of two things. I either roll over and go back to sleep, or I stretch, go downstairs and feed my three goldfish (Sparkles, Rajah and Cleo) my beta (Maui) and my kitty (Stitch). Then I like to get some breakfast and curl up on the couch to watch some cartoons."

— Kait Hodgin, instructional assistant

Angie Wise, second-grade teacher"I usually get up around 8 in the morning. I like to have a cup of coffee and then I go work out at the gym! I love to be active. I like to do the classes at the gym. I lift weights, do athletic training, step and ride the bikes. A couple of times a week, I will go on a hike. I love hiking up mountains, in the gorge and at the coast. Oregon is so beautiful in the summer and I take full advantage of it!"

— Angie Wise, second-grade teacher

Laura Barbour, counselor"When I am on summer vacation, I like to sleep in and then go to the beach!"

— Laura Barbour, counselor

John Schecter, fourth-grade teacher"I like to wake up early when no one else in the house is awake. Go for a run with the dog, sip some coffee outside, read a little bit — summer mornings are awesome!"

— John Schecter, fourth-grade teacher

Allison O'Brien, third-grade teacher"I usually wake up at 6:30 and eat some cereal. Then I go back to sleep until 9, drink some coffee, read a book and go for a bike ride. It's quite relaxing if you ask me."
