2014 grad party fundraiser scheduled for Nov. 16

It’s full steam ahead for the West Linn High School rummage sale fundraiser, scheduled for Nov. 16. All proceeds from the sale will go to support the Class of 2014’s substance-free, all-night graduation party.

I am sure those dedicated rummage sale shoppers will be thrilled.”

The sale serves multiple purposes, Beyer said.

“The community was able to clean out their closets and garages, and shoppers get great deals,” she said. “An additional focus to the rummage sale, as well as to our other fundraisers, is to get our seniors involved.”

In addition to collecting and presorting donations, many seniors will help set up and staff the sale, earning credit for the volunteer hours they put in.

“After all, this is their party, and the committee believes they feel a sense of ownership by participating in these efforts,” Beyer said. Seniors’ parents have put in countless hours too, Beyer said, singling out her co-chairwoman, Cinda Lonsway, as well as Sue Elich, Mitzi Kugler, Stafanie Baker and Laurie Guthrie for special thanks.

Donations were so plentiful, she added, that only a few people could work on sorting them at a time.

“We are so pleased that our community has supported this fundraiser with an incredible amount of items,” Beyer said. “We have everything — furniture, clothing for everyone, electronics, books, housewares, home décor, toys, jewelry, holiday items.”

All items have been sorted to ensure quality.

The sale will be held at Rosemont Ridge Middle School, 20001 Salamo Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 16. Ample parking is available, and students will be available to assist shoppers. Cash and checks will be accepted.
