WLHS choir students honored

Six students from West Linn High School were named to the American Choral Directors Association All Northwest choir ensembles.

The ACDA presents a men’s, women’s, jazz and youth All Northwest Honor Choir every other year. Students from every high school in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, Washington and Oregon are eligible to audition. Each ensemble receives hundreds of blind submissions each year.

The following WLHS students will perform in Seattle in March:

Stephanie Bell-Young, soprano 2, northwest jazz choir

Mason Hegardt, tenor 1, northwest men’s choir

Jacob Arrigotti, tenor 2, northwest men’s honor choir

Cade Guerins, tenor 1, northwest youth choir

Jake Luther, tenor 2, northwest youth choir

Andrew Whitney, bass 2, northwest youth choir

"I am proud of all the students who prepared audition materials for the NW honor choirs," WLHS choir instructor Barb Fontana said. "The students who were selected represent the kind of hard work and dedication that is a hallmark of our students at West Linn High School."

Update FlashAlert subscriptions

With winter weather around the corner, now is a good time to check your subscriptions to FlashAlert, the system the school district uses to give parents information about school closures.

As part of a routine cleanup, many addresses were removed from the FlashAlert system earlier this fall. Access the system at to check on the status of your subscriptions.

Use the “subscribe” button or the “manage my existing subscriptions” link. You can also access the FlashAlert system from the district website at using the “inclement weather” link. An app for Android and iPhone is availabe; it will prove a more stable notification than traditional text messages to your phone.

Purchase student lunches

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District uses a secure online system to accept payment for student lunches. You can deposit money directly into a student’s account by using the student’s name and district ID number.

Visit to pay online using Visa or MasterCard. There is a small fee for online transactions, and funds take at least one business day to show up in a student’s lunch account.

To avoid the online transaction fee, send payment directly to your child’s school by sending a check. Payment should include the student’s full name and district ID number.

Make checks out to the school.
