Attend freshmen study session

Ninth-graders at West Linn High School who would like a little help to end the school year strong should plan to attend a study session sponsored by the school. All freshmen are welcome to attend to receive help studying for finals and completing work assignments. Volunteers will be available answer questions and guide group study sessions in biology, AP human geography, world history, English, world languages and math on these dates:

May 27, 6:45 to 8:45 p.m.

June 4, 6:45 to 8:45 p.m.

Freshmen should meet in the library/media center to sign up for a study space. Transportation is not available; students need to make their own arrangements.

Pick up students’ medication at school

Before the end of the school year, parents must pick up all medications that have been kept at schools’ health rooms to support students at school. According to the school district, all unclaimed medications will be discarded one week after school lets out for the summer.

Sign up for Children’s Art Institute

Continuing its commitment to high-quality art education, the West Linn-Wilsonville School District is again presenting its Children’s Art Institute this summer. Two one-week sessions are available, July 21 through 25 and July 28 through 31. Both sessions will be held at Stafford Primary School, 19875 SW Stafford Road, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

This year’s theme is Art Across Cultures: World Folk Traditions, and students entering grades 1 through 12, as well as adults, will explore the development of imagination through artistic application. Students of all skill levels are welcome to attend; each studio will use techniques appropriate for students’ levels.
