Car prowler sentenced to prison

Oregon City man will serve 43 months for WL break-ins


AmatoWest Linn police achieved another victory with the Clackamas County Court sentencing of an Oregon City man who was breaking into cars in West Linn this spring.

Dwayne Anthony Cohron, 34, was sentenced to 43 months on 15 counts of theft and drug-related charges.

According to Detective Sgt. Kirk Tonkin, a rash of vehicle break-ins started in February.

After following some leads, police zeroed in on Cohron and watched his moves. During investigation, Cohron had been stopped several times for traffic infractions and officers noticed what appeared to be stolen items in his vehicle.

While police continued to investigate, Cohron continued his crime spree. Police made their arrest May 21.

Cohron“He was committing crimes right up until the end,” Tonkin said.

Cohron also faces similar charges in Multnomah and Washington counties, according to Tonkin.

Cohron’s girlfriend, Angela Rose Amaro, 26, of West Linn, was also allegedly involved in the crimes. She was arrested July 24 and faces two identity theft charges, three mail theft charges, two charges for meth possession and three theft charges.
