Get spooked at Mary S. Young State Park

by: VERN UYETAKE - Brittany Williams portrayed Rapunzel at last year's Enchanted Trail at Mary S. Young State Park.Tickets are now on sale for the West Linn Parks and Recreation Haunted Trail, which is set for Oct. 26 and 27 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Mary S. Young State Park.

The Haunted Trail is a guided walk through the woods where you will encounter several different scenes that will attempt to scare you along the way. It is not a hayride and it is not recommended for the elderly or for very young children as it’s not a trick-or-treat trail.

For those who are not ready to be scared, there is also the Enchanted Trail, which is recommended for families with children younger than 12 (children under 3 years of age are admitted free).

Attendees are encouraged to dress for the outdoor conditions. The trail includes some steep elevation. The event includes concessions, games and an interactive children’s trail.

Volunteers are also being sought to help build sets, perform, make costumes, do makeup and help with security. If interested, contact Terri Jones at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 503-557-4700.
